China-Myanmar Baobo Carnival
The Chinese and Burmese governments hold the China-Myanmar Baobo Carnival every year. The event is themed around "peace, development, auspiciousness and joy." Baobo is a Burmese word meaning brothers. The carnival features large-scale Chinese and Burmese cultural performances, water fights, Chinese and Burmese contest of beauty in an ox cart, Miss Ruili pageant, national costume selection, ox cart race, folk sports race, raft race, elephant team performance, fireworks, cruising paper lanterns and Myanmar's traditions like sepak takraw games and cockfights. They can reflect the folk art and common hobbies of both China and Myanmar.
