Scenic Area Introduction
Moli Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area is located 20 kilometers northeast of Ruili City, Yunnan Province, covering a total area of 7 square kilometers. "Moli" is a Dai word meaning "beautiful waterfall." "Moli" is also called "Zhado." It is said that Sakyamuni Buddha once fasted and bathed beside the Moli hot spring, later leaving a large footprint. To commemorate the Buddha's visit, people named this place "Zhado" after the Buddha's footprint in Pali.

The forest coverage rate of Moli Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area exceeds 96%, with 1,500 species of wild plants, 479 species of flowers and spices, and 15 nationally protected rare species. The area is warm and humid with abundant sunlight. The Moli River flows from north to south through the basin into the Ruili River. The river meanders with clear and transparent water, flanked by strange rocks and trees, creating a serene and elegant landscape. Walking about 4 kilometers along the valley, visitors can enjoy unique sights such as the "Buddha's Footprint," "Plant Fossils," "Tree-wrapped Rocks," and "Zhado Waterfall," as well as various rare plants and flowers. The journey is cool, comfortable, fresh, and pleasant.

The original tropical rainforest plants here form a dense canopy. You can see the huge century-old vines as "hammocks," the ruthless "strangler figs" as "tropical cold-blooded killers," and the thousand-year-old ancient ferns and ten-thousand-year-old fossilized trees as thick textbooks of time. After walking for a long time in the dark forest, you can faintly hear the sound of falling water. Following the sound to the end of the canyon, the roar becomes as loud as thunder, the view suddenly opens up, revealing the sky and a massive waterfall cascading down a 60-meter-high cliff. "The falling water is like cotton, scattering flowers without bows or arrows"—this is the Zhado Waterfall.
