Detailed Description
Moli Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area is located 20 kilometers northeast of Ruili City, Yunnan Province, covering a total area of 7 square kilometers. "Moli" means "beautiful waterfall" in the Dai language. "Moli" is also called "Zhado". It is said that Buddha once fasted and bathed by the hot spring here, later leaving a huge footprint. To commemorate Buddha's visit, later generations named this place "Zhado" after the Pali word for the large Buddha footprint.
The forest coverage rate of Moli Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area exceeds 96%, featuring primary tropical valley rainforest vegetation combined with waterfalls as its main landscape. The scenic area is home to more than 1,500 species of wild plants and 479 species of flowers and spices. Thousands of tropical and subtropical plants form a dense canopy, earning it the reputation of a paradise on earth. Walking through it, one feels a cool breeze and the clothes of visitors are often scented with various floral fragrances.
Perhaps due to the divine power of "Zhado," when you enter Moli, you will feel a mysterious sensation constantly following you. The original tropical rainforest plants form a dense canopy. You can regard the huge century-old vines as "hammocks," the ruthless "strangler figs" as "tropical cold-blooded killers," and the millennia-old ancient ferns and fossilized ancient trees as thick textbooks of time. After walking for a long time in the dark forest, you can faintly hear the sound of falling water. Following the sound to the end of the canyon, the noise becomes as loud as thunder, and your view suddenly opens up to see the sky and a giant waterfall cascading down a 60-meter-high cliff. "The falling water is like cotton, scattering flowers without the need for bows or arrows." This is the Zhado Waterfall.
